The Parks and Recreation staff are always looking for new ways to improve or
enhance the programs we offer in order to better serve our participants.

Taekwondo Fitness with Lee's Martial Arts

Class is designed to integrate taekwondo and physical fitness while developing self-defense skills. Participants will learn the basic fundamentals of taekwondo shaping techniques and conditioning. New participants only, cannot repeat course.

Cooking with Usha

This class will consist of 30 minutes of discussion, explanation of recipe and handouts, 60 minutes of prep and cooking, and 30 minutes of cleanup.  Instructor Usha Kotech has worked in the food industry for many years, has a Certification in Restaurant Arts and owned a catering business at a farmers market.  All food and materials included, and participants will be able to sample the dishes that are prepared

Hatha Yoga with Tracy Cohen & Ahsamon Ante-Marandi

This co-taught class offers a foundation of yoga poses focused on sound body alignment, and explores the stress reduction benefits of yoga, like mindful breathing and meditation. Use of props is encouraged (straps, blocks and blankets are provided) and modifications are offered to accommodate varying levels of experience. With two teachers, you can expect more individual attention, creative sequencing, and a light-hearted, friendly approach. Students may sign up for either the Tuesday or the Thursday classes, or both for a twice-weekly practice
