Intro to Nature Journaling
Calendar Date:
Nature Journaling is the practice of drawing and writing in response to observations of nature. Enjoy a “conversation with nature” by slowing down to focus on drawing from observation and recording your experience in a journal or sketchbook. Using pencils and/or pens and markers, quiet your mind and relax into the present moment by following guided exercises based on the viewing of an item from nature. We will spend the first thirty minutes of the workshop outside, observing and connecting to the natural outdoor setting of the community center. The remaining hour of the workshop will be spent indoors, following easy instructions for ways in which one can reflect on nature in a journal. All levels are welcome.
Supplies needed: writing tools (any pencils, pens or fine tip markers you enjoy using); a journal or drawing paper. Watercolors or colored pencils are optional.
