Willamette Water Supply System Raw Water Facilities Project
The Willamette Water Supply System Raw Water Facilities Project began in June 2020. Construction is expected to take four years. Most of Arrowhead Creek Park (formerly known as the Willamette River Water Treatment Plan Park) will be closed to the public during construction to protect the public and allow construction to be completed more quickly. A few areas of the park will remain open to the public during most of the construction, including the water feature that runs along the west side of the Water Treatment Plant.
Improvements include:
- Improved Pump Station
- Seismically reinforced Willamette River Bank
- Increased Intake Capacity
- New Electrical Building and Standby Power
- New Raw Water Pipeline
- Park Improvements such as, new trails, a new overlook, wider paths, and new landscaping.
Construction Update - January 2022
New 66” diameter water pipeline has been installed through the park and work associated with this project will continue through spring 2022. At this time, the park is open to walking traffic only.
