Kids Summer Reading Program

Create, discover and explore at the library! Attend programs & events! Complete reading logs, a science log or a BINGO card for fun, prizes, and entries into prize drawings.

The summer reading program starts Saturday, June 1, for adults and teens, too!

The summer reading program ends Saturday, August 31.

What is the Summer Reading Program?

A reading and activity challenge for all ages with prizes, events and fun!

Who can participate?

All ages! Our program is for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, grade schoolers, home schoolers, middle schoolers, high schoolers, teens, young adults, adults, parents, caregivers, families, friends, neighbors, grandparents, extended family, and everyone in between!

What can I read?

Anything you want! Novels, comics, newpapers, magazines, board books, picture books, also you can listen to books and stories as well such as audiobooks or reading to (or listening to) others (pets included). 

How do I sign-up?

Pick up (at the library) or print out your reading log, science log and/or BINGO and you are ready to go. There is no sign-up.

So what do I do?

Choose how you want to play: Reading logs or science logs or BINGO cards, or all of three!

Read? Read! Read 20 minutes a day for 20 days and complete a reading log! For each reading log you turn in (limit of 4) get a free book and an entry into the prize drawings. Last day to turn in Reading Logs is Thursday, August 31.

How about some science and art? Do 10 STEAM activities and complete a science log! Turn in a completed science Log and receive a prize and an entry into the prize drawings. Last day to turn in Science Logs is Thursday, August 31.

Want a challenge? Pick up a Bingo Card and read books in the different genres and do the activities to make 5 squares in a row. When you have a Bingo, turn in the Bingo Card at the Library. Want even more of a challenge? Complete a Bingo Card Blackout. Do the activities for every square on the Bingo Card and turn the completed card in for extra entries in to the prize drawings.

When are the prize drawings?

The prize drawings will be held Sunday, September 1 and winners will be notified the following week.

What are the prizes?

Books and activities - check out the display case in the library lobby to see all the fun prizes!

Clackamas County Fair Youth Raffle

Youth ages 7-17 years old can enter to win tickets to the Clackamas County Fair!

Visit the Children's desk in the Library to  tell us why you want to attend the Clackamas County Fair. All responses will be entered into a raffle to win free tickets. Last day to enter is August 9, 2024.

Children 6 and under get free Fair admission.
