November 1, 2021 — Wilsonville Parks and Recreation is coordinating the City’s eighth annual toy drive to provide some holiday cheer for neighbors in-need.

Until Dec. 8, residents are encouraged to purchase and drop off new, unwrapped toys at the Parks & Recreation Admin. Building on weekdays between 8 am and 5 pm.  Donations can also be dropped at Wilsonville Orthodontics, 9475 SW Wilsonville Rd., Monday-Thursday (hours vary). Other drop spots may be added and announced.

All toys donated are collected and distributed by Clackamas County Compassion in Action to individuals and families in need.

“We want everyone to experience holiday joy,” said Brian Stevenson, Parks & Recreation Program Manager. “We appreciate our residents who generously contribute toys each year to provide some happiness for those families who may otherwise not have the means to provide holiday gifts.”

Fill a Stocking for a Senior

The Parks and Recreation Department is also inviting community members to donate and fill stockings for seniors enrolled in the Community Center’s Home Delivered Meal Program.  Filled stockings can be donated at the Parks & Recreation Administrative Offices until Dec. 10.

Fun items to consider including in stockings include small games/puzzles, ornaments, personal care items, greeting cards, stamps, gift cards to local grocery stores, coffee/tea/cocoa and wrapped snacks. A comprehensive list of donation ideas is available at WilsonvilleParksandRec.com/SeniorStocking

Holiday Tree Lighting

While public health guidelines are preventing the City from hosting the annual Holiday Tree Lighting ceremony again this year, Town Center Park is once again getting a festive holiday makeover. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the holiday lights, which are being switched on Saturday, Nov. 27, for residents and visitors to enjoy at their convenience.
