Traffic Concerns

Speed sign on poll

In early 2019, City Council approved the formation of the Traffic Concern Team (TCT).  The TCT was formed with the purpose of creating a “central clearing house” for traffic complaints and is comprised of a multi-disciplinary team approach to problem solving. The team is made up of two staff members from Engineering, one from Public Works, three from the Police Department and one from Code Compliance.

The team meets monthly to examine incoming complaints and makes decisions on a course of action, which can include elements such as the installation of signage, engineering changes, speed studies, enforcement, or a combination of transportation related treatments and improvements.

What to do if you have a traffic related complaint

You can submit your concern using the City’s online "Ask the City!" Citizen Request Module (CRM).  It provides a centralized place for fielding, tracking and resolving traffic related complaints.  Once you submit your concern, you can expect a 48 business hour response, alerting you of the potential next steps or resolution.  Depending on the issue, it may go before the TCT when they meet monthly.

Submitting as much information as you can will help in understanding the concern.  The online request form requires the following information:

  • Location (address/map based)
  • Time of Day Problem Noted
  • Date of Problem
  • Describe your concern in detail
  • Images (optional)

Speed Signs

The City currently rotates speed signs around the city on a weekly basis.  You can request speed sign reports by neighborhood.
