City Council Adopts 2025-26 Legislative Agenda
January 24, 2025 — At the January 23, 2025, meeting of the Wilsonville City Council, the Council adopted a 2025-2026 State Legislative Agenda as well as more specific set of 2025 Legislative Session Priorities. These documents guide how the City reacts to specific legislative proposals that may arise during the 2025 session of the 83rd Oregon Legislative Assembly, which convened this week in Salem.
Additionally, the Council adopted Joint Values and Outcomes for the 2025 State Legislative Transportation Package by the Communities of Clackamas County, and also established which Council members would be assigned to sit on each of the intergovernmental committees and City boards on which the Council seats a representative.
On second reading, the Council adopted ordinances that annex and rezone nine acres within the Frog Pond West neighborhood to enable development of the 28-lot Frog Pond Ridgecrest residential subdivision.
During Communications, Metro Council President Lynn Peterson and Metro Councilor Gerritt Rosenthal presented the agency’s plan to pursue a long-term funding mechanism, via a future bond measure, to ensure that programs that are providing emergency shelter and/or housing solutions for Oregonians experiencing critical need may be sustained for the next 25 years. A $652 million bond approved by voters in 2018 to address homelessness will be fully spent in 2027.
The next meeting of the City Council takes place on Monday, Feb. 3, at 7 pm. A 5 pm work session is scheduled to precede the meeting. Both are open to the public.
