Equitable Housing Strategic Plan Moving Forward with Survey, Two Public Meetings
August 27, 2019 — The City of Wilsonville is seeking public input to inform an Equitable Housing Strategic Plan that is being developed to provide a clearer path to affordable housing in Wilsonville for people of all household compositions, income ranges, ages and life stages.
Community members willing to share their ideas, expertise and personal experience regarding affordable housing in Wilsonville are encouraged to complete a short survey by Sept. 15 on the City’s new digital engagement site: LetsTalkWilsonville.com/equitable-housing-strategic-plan.
The Equitable Housing Task Force is holding its second meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 4:30-6 pm, at City Hall, to consider strategies for inclusion in the Strategic Plan. The project team will share feedback from recently completed stakeholder interviews and focus groups to inform the discussion.
On Wednesday, Sept. 11, 6 pm at City Hall, the Planning Commission will hold a work session to review research and stakeholder interview findings and share strategies discussed by the Task Force for inclusion in Equitable Housing Strategic Plan.
Both meetings are open to the public. Comments and testimony may be presented for consideration by the Planning Commission during the work session.
Funded in part by a grant from Metro, the Equitable Housing Strategic Plan addresses a region-wide need to develop more affordable housing. The City of Wilsonville’s 2018 Community Survey indicated that only 38% of residents rated the availability of affordable quality housing as excellent or good.
